Barre workouts are one of the latest fitness trends to provide real results in creating long, lean muscles without bulk. This ballet and Pilates inspired workout combines low impact exercises that strengthen and stretch your body. A barre class is a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs and burns fat in record-breaking time. This is a fast, effective, and safe way to change your body. Known in Hollywood as the class that “lifts” everything, it is now being offered in Bluffton. Let me show you one of our initial workouts and you will see what all the barre buzz is about.

Developed by Navy Seals, TRX Suspension training is quickly becoming popular with all type of athletes, members of the military, fitness enthusiasts and even beginning exercisers. TRX suspension training is a total body workout using a TRX strap and your body weight to improve strength, flexibility, balance and core stability simultaneously. You can control how intense each exercise is by simply adjusting where your body is in relationship to the strap anchor point. For example, when you perform a TRX Back Row you can remain more upright or take a quick step toward the anchor point for a challenge. The TRX suspension strap supports you so that you can do a greater range of motion for each exercise while recruiting more stabilizing muscles. In other words, your core has to stay engaged in order to maintain proper alignment during exercises.

Looking for a great core workout? Pilates builds strength, flexibility, stability, balance and core control simultaneously. Joseph Pilates designed a mat series of exercises and then went onto develop Pilates equipment. Pilates equipment training offers an even greater challenge with added resistance through springs on the equipment. The springs provide support and resistance that allows an individual to find and enhance their core connection in a way that is difficult to do on the mat alone. While Pilates equipment works better and faster to change the body, Pilates mat exercises certainly challenge your abdominals. Try these exercises 3-4 times per week to see for yourself.

Many of you are traveling to visit friends and family during the holiday season. You may not feel that you have time to work out, but I am going to show you some time-saving exercise combinations with a resistance band.
Resistance bands can be found in the sporting goods section of almost any store. They vary in strength, so it’s a good idea to have a few different resistance options. Traveling or not, you can do these exercises to build muscle and burn calories.
